During the famous holiday truce during the World War II Battle of the Bulge, an American Captain, John Myers, falls in love with a beautiful Belgian woman named Alina (Ali Liebert). That's the premise of the romantic TV movie A Christmas Truce. When Myers gets called back to the fighting line, the couple vows to reunite on the first Christmas after the war ends. It won't be an easy promise to keep.
Captain John Myers is portrayed by Craig Olejnik. The Canadian-born actor brings personal history to the movie set. His grandfather was a solider and POW in a concentration camp for five years in Poland during World War II. When released, his grandparents immigrated to Canada. Craig Olejnik is best known for his roles on The Listener (Toby Logan) and Runaway (Jake Bennett). He got his first big break in the 1995 film Margaret's Museum opposite Helena Bonham Carter. He played her little brother. A Christmas Truce premieres on ION on December 12 at 9pm.
