On the Gotham episode “Rise of the Villains: The Son of Gotham,” while Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) gets closer to figuring out who killed his parents, James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) deals with a suspect linked to Theo Galavan (James Frain). Meet The Knife. He’s described by CinemaBlend as “a Gotham City hitman who does work for whoever pays him the most money. Though unlike Mr. Zsasz, for instance, he doesn’t seem to be quite as outwardly maniacal, and he’ll use his charm and his sense of humor to keep his victims comfortable until he brings out the blade and ends their lives.”
The Knife is portrayed by Tommy Flanagan. The Scottish-born actor is best known for his TV roles on Sons of Anarchy (Filip ‘Chibs’ Telford) and Revenge (Malcolm Black), and in the tough guy films Braveheart (Morrison), The Saint (Scarface), Face/Off (Leo), Gladiator (Cicero), and Sin City (Brian). Flanagan is currently filming Sand Castle, a war movie about US soldiers trying to protect a small village in occupied Iraq. Gotham airs Mondays at 8pm on FOX.
