Tom+Chee sold its first grilled cheese sandwich at a food tent on a public square in Cincinnati. Using fresh and gluten-free ingredients, Tom+Chee is spinning the classic comfort food as a healthy alternative. While they do offer a Grilled Cheese Donut, they also offer the vegetarian Hippy Chee and salads. After making a deal with investor Barbara Corcoran on Shark Tank, the franchise empire is expanding at a rapid pace.
There are now 35 Tom+Chee restaurants in 17 states: Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kansas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Colorado, Georgia, and Florida. You can find one near you, here.
