Pop diva Gwen Stefani, who recently separated from her husband Gavin Rossdale of 13 years, released a new music video for her song "Used To Love You." It’s a sad song and the video is awkward to watch. It's all Stefani up close and upset. Against a black backdrop, viewers watch Gwen and her expressive, glamorous face occasionally singing along to the painful lyrics. Part of the chorus goes: “I thought I was the best thing that ever happened to you / I thought you loved me the most.”
The "Used To Love You" video is reminiscent of the 1990 Sinead O’Connor video where she sang the Prince song Nothing Compares 2 U. Gwen doesn’t lip sync the whole song like O'Connor did, nor does she shed a tear. And at the end Gwen isn't as mad as Sinead, but then again who is? You can see more of Stefani on The Voice which airs Mondays at 8pm and Tuesdsays at 9pm on NBC.
