Blind Joe is just one of the many performers at the blind auditions for Season 9 of The Voice. But he’s one of the few who gets all four judges – Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell, and Blake Shelton – to turn around. Blake Shelton had to tell Blind Joe about this quadruple judge-spinning fact -- since Blind Joe couldn't see it. Blind Joe is totally blind. The 32-year-old singer/songwriter was born and raised in the Fargo, North Dakota and if he has no sight, he sure has sound.
He’s already a star on the stage. He’s opened for heavyweights including John Hiatt and Buddy Guy. And he’s got a great sense of humor off stage. Blind Joe recently wrote on his Facebook page: “Just put new merchandise up on the site. Even if you don’t buy, please take a look, it took forever to get it done…. Damn blindess! LOL” Just hours before the premiere of The Voice, he wrote: “Who's jumping up-and-down with excitement over the #VoicePremiere while doing the dishes in his underwear? This guy, that's who!” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
