HBO has dropped the needle on the trailer for its new drama Vinyl. The 1970s-set tale of the New York music scene stars Bobby Canavale, Olivia Wilde, and Ray Romano. It features everything we love about the 1970s: drugs, long-playing records, drugs, bad hair, and drugs.
The series is produced by Boardwalk Empire‘s Terence Winter as well as Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger. Based on the trailer, it could be very good, or it could be just another rehash of everything Scorcese has done before over and over and over. Expect to hear “Gimme Shelter” at least once.
