America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel took a comical cue from stuttering standup comedian Drew Lynch, who totally nailed his performance at Radio City Music Hall. Lynch had to follow Piff the Magic Dragon’s performance -- which involved putting his dog, a Chihuahua, in a box. During Lynch’s routine, Lynch refers to the day he got his service dog. “That’s not a magic Chihuahua!” he said. Mandel commended Lynch on his quick wit and even said, “I wish I could be as good as you.”
Mandel tried. After the stellar performances of singer Samantha Johnson, AGT judge Heidi Klum told Johnson that she’s the best singer we have on the show. To which Mandel said, “because we can see her lips moving right?” He was referring to ventriloquist Paul Zerdin’s performance just minutes before Johnson’s. Klum complained about Zerdin walking off the stage to let his dummy Sam talk without him. “I like to see your lips move,” she said. Looks like all three acts – Drew Lynch, Paul Zerdin, and Samantha Johnson – will advance. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
