With help from a power lineman, two guys from North Twin Falls, Idaho invented Melni Electrical Connectors. The patented Melni connectors are an innovative alternative to traditional butt splice and heat shrinks which require crimping and specialized tools. The company has big plans, with a vision to become “global leaders in electrical device design and manufacturing.”

The idea came about when Mark Melni noticed employees at his electronics company getting sores on their hands from crimping wires. In 2007, in his garage, Melni tinkered with what would become the Melni Electrical Connector. “Once the connector is twisted, the spiral is able to grip stripped wires, cables and to securely connect them.” No painful, time-wasting crimping required. You can still find Melni in his garage. He’s working on a battery terminal, lug terminal, zap nut connector, MPV-4 solar connector and a modular connector.
