After a three month break Agents of SHIELD is back! The alien Obelisk has transformed Raina (Ruth Negga) into an inhuman, a cold-blooded reptilian creature. Executive producer Jeffery Bell explained to ComicBook.com: "Raina's a character who seems to have gotten everything she every wanted through the first season-and-a-half. She successfully manipulated or moved everyone quietly, efficiently to get what she wanted. When she finally got what she wanted, it turned out to be that, which wasn't what she wanted. So we thought it was interesting to take a character who sorta had always succeeded and giving them an apparent setback and see how the character reacts in those situations."
Raina is portrayed by Ruth Negga, the 32-year-old, Ethiopian-born actress best known for her roles in World War Z with Brad Pitt and The Samaritan with Samuel L. Jackson. Her next blockbuster film is Warcraft, the highly anticipated epic fantasy/adventure film based on the popular video game. Negga plays Lady Taria, the royal Queen of Stormwind, King Llane’s (Dominic Cooper’s) great love and most trusted counsel. Season 2 of Agents of SHIELD will premiere Tuesday, March 3 at 9pm on ABC.
