Vanity Fair has released the cover of its annual Hollywood issue, featuring Channing Tatum, Amy Adams and Reese Witherspoon, along with seven other actors. This is the magazine’s 21st Hollywood issue, published in the heart of Awards season. The three-panel foldout was photographed by award-winning photographer Annie Liebowitz.
The full line-up of movie stars is Channing Tatum, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon, Eddie Redmayne, David Oyelowo, Felicity Jones, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sienna Miller, Miles Teller, and Oscar Isaac. While it might appear at first glance as if Vanity Fair is simply publicizing the Academy Awards, it should be noted the majority of the actors are not nominated for Oscars: Adams, Tatum, Oyelowo, Miller, Teller, and Isaac. Oscar Isaac’s movie–A Most Violent Year–is probably the most overlooked film of the season. While it won at the National Board of Review and was recognized by several Critics Associations, it received only one Golden Globe nomination (Jessica Chastain), and has been snubbed by both the SAG Awards and the Oscars.
