There's a new novel in the world and it's called Acadia. What's so interesting about that? Well if it's anything like its author, a lot. James Erwin has had a lot of "ridiculous adventures" -- as he confesses in his recent Reddit AMA. These include winning on Jeopardy and "writing two encyclopedias."
James's creative writing career really took off in that dreamy way every Internet smart-aleck with a dream hopes for. He sort of hit the lottery. (He also once hit the real lottery, for $30K, but that's just annoying. Back to our story.) A few years ago James posted a little story on Reddit about a modern Marine unit "flung into conflict with the Roman Empire." And wouldn't you know, he ended up getting a screenplay deal out of it--with Warner Brothers! Check out Acadia here. And keep on posting your stories, people. There are a whole bunch of people whose job it is to find talent--and they're obviously looking around.
