"I am getting sick and tired of dinosaurs being forced on our children," begins a rant by a disgruntled parent who thinks the science behind dinosaur discoveries is suspect. The post appears at the popular parenting site mumsnet.com.
The unhappy parent is part of a Facebook group called "Christians Against Dinosaurs." It has 4,000 members. Besides the possible threat that the consideration of dinosaurs poses to Christians who believe in intelligent design, there are also everyday matters like the wicked influence of dinosaurs on children's behavior--encouraging bestiality. "At my children's school, several children were left in tears after one of their classmates...became bestially-minded and ran around the classroom roaring and pretending to be a dinosaur. Then he bit three children on the face." The T-Rex effect, especially when it results in biting, is frowned upon by parents of all religious persuasions.
