KFC unleashed the Double Down Dog in the Philippines. It’s a regular hot dog wrapped in a large chicken nugget. The chicken filet negates the use of a bready bun. The Double Down Dog is only available in the Philippines on January 26 and 27.
There are over 13,000 KFC outlets in more than 80 countries around the world; why did the fast food company chose the Philippines to test the Double Down Dog? The culture there has historically embraced the idea of 'hot dogs.' In the 1970s a Filipino band called The Hotdogs – more commonly known simply as Hotdog – achieved great success. Hotdog is given credit for starting the music revolution known today as Original Pinoy Music. Hotdog songs have been extremely influencial and have been used in numerous movies and TV and radio commercials.
