Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice got two months taken off her 15-month prison sentence. She reported to jail on Monday, January 5, 2015. She had previously pleaded guilty to mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud with her husband, Joe Giudice.
The Bureau of Prisons records indicate that Giudice will be released from the Danbury Federal Correction Institute on February 5, 2016 instead of April 5, 2016. There is no reason listed on the BOP website. Danbury is a minimum security prison camp which inspired the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, based on Piper Kerman’s remarkable memoir. Kerman, who laundered money for a drug operation, also served 13 months of a 15-month sentence. 13 is the new 15, apparently.
