Actress Lindsay Lohan has a mosquito-borne virus (Chikungunya) that she contracted during a trip to Bora-Bora. A source told the Daily News that “she could hardly stand up, she was in so much pain. But she’s in a great hospital now in London – the King Edward VII’s Hospital. “It’s the one recommended by the queen,” the source said. Lohan has been living in London since appearing in David Mamet’s play Speed the Plow in the West End.
There are no antiviral medicines to treat the disease, which causes fever and joint pain. Most patients feel better within a week.
