"My question is how do I present it to him without him feeling like I feel sorry for him? I'm just trying to help a brother out." That's what Greensboro, North Carolina high school student Yaovi Mawuli asked on Facebook--because he had the idea of giving one of his classmates a new pair of Air Jordans. (The classmate's kicks were kind of beat up.) And not just any Air Jordans either, but the new Jordan XIs--the ones that had people camping out overnight for--just to get a ticket for the right to buy a pair when they got delivered.
Mawuli is not just a high school kid but a sneaker fanatic, or as he identifies himself: CEO at Kixify.com/raresalekicks. But it's his generosity--and his sensitivity to his classmate's feelings--that have moved a lot of people. One Facebook user wrote to Mawuli: "I don't know you but I saw what you did for a classmate!!! Hats off to you and best of luck to you in the future.... Respect." Mawuli replied with gratitude and a great reminder: "Thank You all I really appreciate it, remember to pass it forward when you guys get a chance to help." Amen.
