The 100+ V6 sounds like something out of Detroit, but it's a smartphone out of China. And it's wearing an iPhone costume. (Or is iPhone wearing its?) Made by Chinese smartphone maker Digione, the 100+ V6 is a dead ringer for the iPhone 6 except for two big things: it's an Android phone and it only costs about $130. An iPhone 6 runs upwards of $600--or four times the price of the impostor.
It's not unusual to copy the market leader--it happens in every business. But the twist here is that Digione claims Apple copied its design, according to Macworld. (Steve Jobs was known to quote T.S. Eliot: good artists borrow, great ones steal.) Digione is out ahead of the issue too, making their complaint public and posting a letter it sent to Apple on social media.
