After defeating American boxer Devon Alexander at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, British professional boxer Amir Khan got on a plane to Pakistan. Khan, whose family is from Pakistan, is fulfilling his promise to "help rebuild the school in Peshawar where 132 children were killed by the Taliban in the country's deadliest-ever terror attack." While fighting Alexander in the ring, Khan wore a pair of gold trim shorts which he later sold for $45,000 to help fund his efforts in Peshawar.
The 28-year-old Olympic medalist says when he comes back from Pakistan that he wants to fight that other American boxer, the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather. "I'm going to try and force that fight with Mayweather," Khan told the press recently. Mayweather says his next fight will be against Pacquiao but that’s been “in the works’ for years. Khan isn't the type to say something and not follow through. Ask the kids he met with in Peshawar.
