The Golden State Warriors look like champions early. They just hammered the Clippers and they’re undefeated in Coach Steve Kerr’s rookie campaign. One of the ingredients in their success appears to be chemistry. These guys genuinely like each other and more importantly–they like each other’s games.
Klay Thompson made that abundantly clear on the radio recently. Thompson just signed a four-year, $70 million dollar extension, so he’s in a good mood. (Undefeated, super-rich, what’s not to like?) But the generosity of the Warriors comes through consistently, in the talk and on the floor. Here’s Thompson talking about teammate Andrew Bogut on KNBR-680: “I can’t describe how good his passing is. He gets me so many good looks every night. I should give a percentage of my contract to him now.” When NBA guys start talking about sharing their money with you, now that’s a compliment.
