Actor Jude Law (Cold Mountain, The Talented Mr. Ripley) is in talks with his friend Guy Ritchie to play a villain in the director’s King Arthur film, Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur. The two Englishmen have worked together before on the Sherlock Holmes franchise. Based loosely on various characters from Arthurian stories, it appears Ritchie is out to create a whole new franchise of films.
While Sons of Anarchy Charlie Hunnam is playing Arthur and Astrid Berges-Frisbey (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) is Guinevere, we hope Law will play Mordred, the notorious traitor who fought King Arthur at the Battle of Camlann. Law knows a thing about being a traitor. Remember when he had to publicly apologize to Sienna Miller for sleeping with their babysitter? Anyway, Ritchie will either have to rewrite or save the battle until the end of the franchise. At the battle, Mordred was killed and Arthur fatally wounded.
