When it was time to announce that comedian Chris Rock and rock pop godhead Prince were going to host Saturday Night Live (November 1), Prince showed his sense of humor by tweeting a photo of Rock dressed up as Prince from the 2013 film Grown Ups 2. We could hear Rock screaming with laughter when he saw that pop up on his feed. Rock is a huge Prince fan -- he thinks Purple Rain is the best album of all time.
Rock is on SNL promoting his new film, Top Five, which hits theaters on December 12. Variety calls it "a candid, fresh, ferociously funny snapshot of life in the celebrity bubble." Speaking of celebrity bubbles, Prince is promoting his two new albums with his band 3rdEyeGirl, Art Official Age and PlectrumElectrum. Make sure to tune into SNL. Prince is performing just once -- he's going to perform an 8-minute-long jam -- he's refused to cut up his segment into two as virtually all musical guests have in the past.
