Lead singer of the 1980s pop band Culture Club, Boy George, canceled the band’s reunion tour today. It would have been the band’s first US tour in 14 years. The timing couldn’t have been worse. Culture Club was expected to perform today at the California desert resort of Rancho Mirage.
George said “one of his vocal cords had hemorrhaged to the point it would not close fully when he sings.” While fans will be disappointed with the cancellation of the tour, Culture Club does plan to release its first album since 1999 next year. It’s called Tribes.
