What better way to celebrate National Cat Day than with an adorable kitten-filled film about a possible homicide (catricide?). The people at The Pet Collective have made a short video, Gone Purrl, a reenactment of the season’s most talked-about film, David Fincher’s anti-date movie Gone Girl. The video takes dialogue from the Ben Affleck-Rosamund Pike psychological thriller and puts it into the furry mouths of cute kittens.
Although the dialogue has been slightly altered “As you all know, my wife hiss-appeared 21 cat days ago,” Vanity Fair notes that “the cat homage manages to summarize Fincher’s 149-minute drama in 137 seconds without sacrificing the gummy-bear comic relief, the twin-cest joke, and the nude shower scene.” The video does not name the cast of the video: presumably one of these kittens is called Neil Catrick-Harris.
