Benedict Cumberbatch's cred among fanboys just keeps getting better and better. After portraying Khan and voicing Smaug, as well as breathing new life into the world's most famous private detective (consulting detective, actually), Cumberbatch will play Doctor Strange when the Marvel film begins shooting next year. Presumably entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe will ensure that Cumberbatch will be entertaining legions of fanboys at Comic-Con for years to come. Of course, it could be a bad movie. Doctor Strange is co-written by the guy who wrote the dreadful Conan remake, and will be directed by Scott Derrickson, who made audiences stand still and not go and see The Day The Earth Stood Still.
