A 29-year-old man named Ryan Chesley was driving his motorcycle Tuesday night on Interstate 15 in Las Vegas when a taxi cut him off and, as the Denver Post reported, “he went down.” When Chesley came to, still on the ground, he recognized retired boxer Mike Tyson standing near him. Tyson “was yelling at people not to touch Chesley.” Chesley, who had broken bones, made sure to take a photo of Tyson from the ground. Tyson is seen smiling.
Chesley sent Tyson a basket of fruit as a gesture of thanks. Tyson was grateful. Tyson’s assistant Steve Lott reported to the Associated Press that “half the fruit in the basket had been consumed…and the pistachios were a particularly popular item.” There are as yet no rumors of a script circulating in Hollywood where a superhero who looks like Mike Tyson magically appears at various accident sites, smiling and helping to maintain public calm, before refueling on nuts and fruit before his next adventure.
