30 Rock star Tracy Morgan is recovering from a near fatal car accident this summer, which makes new projects impossible for the time being. But Morgan fans can at least hear his colorful laughter in the forthcoming animated film, The Boxtrolls. Based on Alan Snow’s children’s novel “Here Be Monsters,” the film is about an orphaned 11-year-old boy, Eggs, who was raised without humans in an underground world of trash collecting monsters. Before the accident, Morgan provided the voice for Mr. Gristle, a red hat henchman who is looking to destroy the Boxtrolls.
The magical world of Boxtrolls also features the voices of Sir Ben Kingsley as Boxtrolls' archenemy Archibald Snatcher, and Elle Fanning as Winnie, a curious rich girl who literally falls into Eggs' world and helps him fight off characters like Mr. Gristle and Snatcher. The Boxtrolls will be released on September 26.
