Britney Spears is launching a line of lingerie called The Intimate Britney Spears. She will model the collection herself and sell the affordable line of sleepwear, camisoles, shorts and sweats, on a website built specifically for the TIBS. (We hope TIBS sticks.) There will be a big event in New York City on September 9. Details to come.
It’s not the first time Spears has delved into the fashion industry. In 2010 she co-designed her own line of clothing (skinny jeans, little black skirts, motorcycle jackets) for fashion label Candie’s which was sold exclusively in Kohl’s stores. The partnership didn’t last long. Spears, then a mother of two toddlers, refused to let the airbrushed photos of her posing in a bikini for a Candie’s ad campaign stand alone. She released the “before” photos to the media, too. She was 28 years old at the time.
