No one likes staff meetings because no one likes to be nagged or to be considered a nag. But let’s face it, people, shit needs to get done and that requires teamwork, spreadsheets, shared docs and lots of progress reports from lots of different departments. We’ll, here’s one way to avoid the dreaded staff meeting and overlap of reporting: iDoneThis. For $5 per person, per month, the PhDs who built the iDoneThis software will send you and your team an evening email; you reply with what you did that day, and the next day, a digest is sent to everyone, summarizing what the team got done. Then co-workers can leave messages on your posts (iDoneThis encourages celebratory messages like “way to go” rather than micromanaging digs like “what’s taking so long?”).
The founders of this email-based technology are two lawyers out of the University of Michigan, along with a PhD in physics and a PhD in computer engineering. They’re backed by Facebook team member Gokul Rajaram and the mentorship program founded by ex-Googler Thomas Korte, AngelPad. Hey Gokul and Thomas: Way to go!
