In different places this morning, Tom Waits, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Joe Walsh, Mary J. Blige, James Taylor and George Jones woke up, did not have a drink, and made some kind of music.
In Taylor’s case, it’s notable that neither did he inject himself with heroin, which he did regularly for decades. There aren’t many former heroin addicts: 85% of heroin addicts die of it.
