On a pretty day in Idaho Falls, after lunch, the security scanner at the courthouse beeps as a 41-year-old woman steps through. She smiles at the approaching security officer, turns and runs for the door. Pursued onto the street, urged to stop, she refuses.
The runner is apprehended a short distance away, on D Street. In her pants pocket: a vile of methamphetamine, sometimes called dope.
